Types of Migraines
Menstrual Migraine – Women may experience more frequent or severe migraines at different times in their menstrual cycle. Menopause may also trigger more migraine attacks. This shows a link between migraine occurrence and female hormone levels.
Chronic Migraines – This refers to the chronic frequency of migraine attacks. A person has to deal with migraines more than 15 days out of the month for the condition to be classified as chronic.

Status Migrainosus – This is a rare migraine condition that can consist of attacks that are several days long. These severe migraines result in extreme nausea and vomiting. Patients are often hospitalized to receive fluids by IV so as to avoid dehydration.
Abdominal Migraine – These migraines are characterized by nausea, vomiting, flushing, and clumsiness. Children are more likely to have this type of a migraine.
